Meet Bill

I am not a politician.  I am a citizen intent on meeting our critical national challenges.  I have the education, experience, integrity, intelligence and resolve to contribute substantially to the solutions we need. On my campaign card and in my web site, I present my qualifications for office and my answers in detail.  First, we can and must end corporate control of Congress.  We can rebuild our economy and create jobs.  We can have good health care for everyone at an affordable cost. We can balance our federal budget.  We must require honest and responsible practices from our bankers and from Wall Street to prevent a reoccurrence of the near financial collapse of 2008.  We can restructure the war on terror as an international police and intelligence operation making us safer, saving lives of our service men and women, and saving trillions of dollars. For many years we’ve seen the corporate control of Congress grow.

Congressmen rely on donations from corporate executives to fund their multimillion dollar campaigns and work for them not us.  With the recent Supreme Court decision, corporations can blackmail Congressmen with the threat of massive ad attacks.  This poses a dire threat to our nation’s future.

But, in the 7th Congressional District we have the answer to that threat.  Mine is a grass roots campaign.  I don’t take anything from corporate executives or any other special interests.  I rely only on ordinary citizens.  You can ignore those ads.  My answers to our national problems are well crafted and are mainstream American.  They are supported not only by Democrats but equally by moderate Republicans and Independents.  We, the citizens, regardless of party, have a common goal of solving our problems and returning our nation to greatness.

I mailed my campaign card to Cy a friend of 30 years and lifelong Republican.  Cy sent back an email saying that he agreed with everything on my card, that I must be a Republican. Well, I’m not a Republican and Cy’s not a Democrat.  But, we agree on the issues.  (Update: Cy is now a registered Independent.) And that’s important. In September 2010, I went up to a house to get permission to place my sign.  John came to the door.  He said, “Fat chance of that."  He was a Republican. Well, I handed him one of my cards and we started through the issues.  John had a lot of good questions. An hour later, my sign was in his yard and he had a hand full of my cards that he was going to give to friends and relatives.  A few weeks later, John took about 300 of my cards and delivered one to every house in his precinct.  John  still considers himself a Republican.  But, he and I are working together to solve our national problems.

I solved a lot of unsolvable problems in highly charged political situations in the Air Force.  I did it by developing a good plan, getting feedback from others to improve the plan, selling it at all levels, and refusing to believe it couldn’t be done.  I’ve had an Air force career.  I was commissioned from the enlisted ranks.  I’ve owned a small business.  For the last 20 years, I’ve developed and maintained software supporting a very successful method of process improvement applied to business and government operations.  I’ve been married for 44 years.  My wife and I raised three great children.  We have 6 grand children.   I’ve had a wealth of valuable life experiences.

I’m ready to go to Congress and have a very positive impact in the best interests of us the people and our nation.
