Rebuilding our Infrastructure

Our infrastructure of roads, bridges, dams, sewers, and water supply systems is in need of very substantial repair.  This should be a major thrust of the next 20 years.  We need to get started in 2009.   We will need the tax program I propose to finance that effort.  A beneficial side effect of that effort will be the improvement of our economy as jobs are generated by it. 

It is sad that Bush has spent money which could have funded the rebuilding of our infrastructure bombing the infrastructure of Iraq.  There is a plausible argument that we are now obligated to rebuild Iraqi infrastructure.  However, with their oil reserves, they are richer than us.  I favor the position that they will fund their own rebuilding. 

As Iraq fades into the past, we must remember the mistakes made by Bush/Cheney and prevent their reoccurrence in the future.  We must enter an era in which we select calm, considered, intelligent and moral leaders.  We must invoke my 10 point plan for ethics in Congress and break the control of self serving corporate lobbyists who lead us into disasters for their own profit.
