Contribute to help retire the $10,500 debt of the Conner for Congress Campaign! Checks should be made out to Conner for US Congress and mailed to Conner for US Congress, 3193 Kingfisher Place, Beavercreek, OH 45431 Online Credit Card This uses ActBlue, a secure contribution system (similar to PayPal) used by most Democratic candidates Our Campaign in 2006 was successful by any reasonable measure. We got 39.4% of the vote - more than any Democratic candidate received in the 7th District since 1982. 26% is usual with an additional 6% with second runs. The 2006 race was against an entrenched incumbent. In 2008, we will run against a new Republican. The last time that happened, the Democratic Candidate, Jack Schira, increased his vote 12% (26% against DeWine in '88 to 38% against Hobson in '90). In 2008, we can win. But we need your help. In 2006 we had a campaign fund of $14,000. Our opponent spent more than $2,000,000. He ran extensive TV ads in Columbus and Dayton. We spent the money on 5500 yard signs, 40,000 campaign cards, 15 newspaper ads, 100+ radio spots and 170,000 robocalls. This web site cost less than $100. Having it to do again, we would do exactly the same. We were and always will be very frugal with campaign expenditures. All of our contributions were $500 or less. Most were $100 or less. The Ohio and national Democratic Parties contributed only to campaigns which raised millions on their own. We received nothing from them. Our obvious good chances in 2008 and some early contributions may lead to party support. We made a lot of progress in 2006. We won in Franklin and Perry Counties - Hobson had not lost a county in previous elections. There were over 30,000 visits to this web site. Since the election, those visits continue at over 150 per day (4500 per month). Advertisers say it takes time and multiple contacts to market a new idea. We can build on the good work of 2006. In the 2008 campaign, we want to improve our outreach with 100,000 campaign cards, many more radio spots, more newspaper ads, and direct mailings. We will use TV ads only if we have a very successful fund raising effort. We need your help! Campaign cards are a very effective way to get the word to the voters. With a $100 donation, you can buy 2000 of them. Yard signs are also very effective. For $500 you can buy 450 16x26 two color poly bag vinyl signs with wire supports. For the maximum donation of $2300, you can a radio campaign double that of 2006. There are few other ways you can provide that much benefit to our nation for each dollar spent. Federal Election Commission regulations: These contributions are not tax deductible. Please include an information sheet with your Name, address, occupation, and employer. The maximum individual contribution for a campaign is $2300 (a married couple can each donate $2300 from joint resources for a total of $4600.). The campaign for the March 4,2008 primary is separate from the campaign for the general election in November 2008. Thus, an individual can contribute $2300 to the primary campaign and another $2300 to the general election campaign.
